1. Using the “Insert Files” Tool
Uploading from your computer:
To Upload a PDF and place it on your whiteboard, Click on the Insert Files button placed on the right end of the whiteboard toolbar.
A pop-up will appear that allows you to upload PDFs from your computer. Click on the Select File button to upload or simply drag and drop the file. Please make sure the PDF is under 70 pages and 15 MB.
It will only take a moment for Pencil Spaces to import your document.
Once imported, you will have the PDF file preview and the option to select the pages of the PDF you want on your board. Alternatively, you can Select All.
You also have different placement options available for your PDF file. You could choose to place all the selected pages on the current board, new board, or even one page per board. Click on “Import Pages”
Once selected, the PDF file will be placed on the whiteboard, ready for you to work on!
By default, the PDF is locked when placed. Unlock the PDF to move it across the whiteboard.
Upload from Pencil Files
To insert files from Pencil Files, click the "Pencil Files" tab on the left. You will see all of your folders and previously uploaded files here. Anything that you have uploaded to Pencil in the past gets automatically saved here.
From there, search the PDF you wish to bring on to the space.
Select the PDF you wish to import. The Insert button at the bottom will turn blue when you have chosen a file, click the "Insert" button.

2. Drag & drop to import PDF
To import a PDF to the current board, you can simply select a PDF file and drag & drop it onto the whiteboard. Currently, Pencil Spaces only supports drag-and-drop upload of only one PDF at a time.
