Duplicating a board creates a copy of an existing board, including its content and layout. This can be useful when you want to reuse a lesson, activity, or set of materials while keeping the original board unchanged.
You can duplicate a board as a shared board, a private board, or a separate private board for each participant.
How to duplicate a board
To duplicate a board in Pencil Spaces:
Locate the board you want to duplicate.
Hover over the board and select the three dots that appear beside its name.
Select Duplicate board.
You can then choose how you want the board to be duplicated:
As shared board: Creates a copy that is shared with all users.
As private board: Creates a copy that is only visible to hosts and selected participants.
As private board per participant: Creates a separate private copy for each participant. The new boards will be placed in a folder.
The duplicated board or boards will be identical to the original, and their names will be automatically updated to indicate that they are copies. You can rename the duplicated boards at any time.
Note: If you want to keep a copy of your board on your computer, select Download board instead of duplicating it. Downloading the board as an image or a .space file allows you to re-upload it to a Space directly from your computer at a later time.
