A Space in Pencil Spaces is your online classroom, complete with video conferencing and an infinite whiteboard. Within a Space, you can create multiple boards, each with its own infinite canvas. Boards help you organize your lessons, group activities, and different topics all in one place.
How to add a board
To manually add a new board to your Space:
Click Boards on the bottom-left corner of your Space, or press Alt + B on your keyboard.
Click the blue + New button in the Boards panel.
By selecting the dropdown arrow, you can choose the type of board or folder you want to create:
Shared board: Visible to everyone in the Space.
Private board: Visible only to hosts and selected participants.
Private board per participant: Creates a separate private board for each participant, organized in a folder.
Create new folder: Creates a folder to help organize your boards.
Upload from a .space file: Upload a previously saved Pencil Spaces board or Space directly from your computer.
Your new board will appear at the bottom of the board list, ready to use.
đĄ Pro tip: Pencil Spaces creates new boards automatically when you upload a PDF or open questions from the course library.
How to rename a board
You can rename a board in three ways.
Option 1: From the board list
Open the Boards list on the left side of your Space, or press Alt + B on your keyboard.
Hover over the board you want to rename and click the three-dot icon.
Select Rename, enter the new name, and press Enter.
Option 2: From the top bar
Click the board name in the middle of the top bar.
Select Rename board, enter the new name, and press Enter.
Option 3: Rename directly from the board list
Hover over the board name until itâs outlined in blue.
Click the name, enter the new name, and press Enter.
How to search for a board
If your Space contains lots of boards, you can use the search bar to find one by name.
Click Boards from the bottom-left corner of your Space, or press Alt + B on your keyboard.
Enter the boardâs name in the search bar at the top of the list.
Select and open the board from your search results.
