With Pencil Spaces, you can easily export a board from one Space and import it into another using a .space file. This is perfect for reusing lesson materials, sharing templates, or backing up your work.
Ensure that permission is toggled on
Open Settings.
Go to Permissions > Inside Spaces.
Toggle on Download Spaces or boards permission.
Always On (Host cannot modify) – Hosts can download and upload content from Spaces or boards.
Always Off (Host cannot modify) – Hosts cannot download or upload any content from Spaces.
After ensuring that you have the correct permissions, you can proceed with the following steps:
From the Source Space
Locate the board you want to copy.
Hover over the board and click the three-dot menu (⋯) beside its name.
Select Download board.
Choose Save as a .space file to download it to your device.
💡Pro Tip
You can copy all the boards by downloading the .space file via Space settings.
To the Target Space
Open the Space where you want to upload the board.
Open the Board Manager.
Click the dropdown (⌄) button.
Select Upload from a .space file.
Your OS upload modal will open. Now, choose the
.spacefile you downloaded from the previous Space.
Your board will now appear in the new Space, exactly as it was in the original! A pop-up will appear to confirm the successful upload.
