How do I upgrade my plan?

  1. Create an account (if you havenโ€™t already). Go to my.pencilapp.com and sign up.

  2. Open Settings. From Spaces Manager, click the โ€ฆ (top-left) โ†’ Settings.

  3. Go to Billing & Payment (sometimes shown as Plans & Billing).
    โ€‹

  4. Choose your plan. Click Upgrade on the plan you want.
    โ€‹

  5. Follow the on-screen steps to complete your purchase.

  6. Finish setup. Name your institution (you can change it later) and click Done.
    โ€‹

  7. ๐ŸŽ‰ You're all set!


Troubleshooting

  • I don't see Billing & Payment: You may not have the right permissions to access this page. Please contact Support and we'd be glad to assist you.

  • I don't see available plans, I just see "custom plan": Please contact Support and we'd be glad to assist you.

  • The checkout page does not appear on my device: please check that you have popups enabled on your browser. You can view guides on how to do that here:
    - Chrome
    - Safari
    - Edge

  • Payment failed: Try another card, then contact your bank to allow the charge.
    โ€‹

  • Still stuck? Reach out to Support with, if relevant, the email on the billing account.

  • Can I apply a promo code during upgrade?: Yes, on the Upgrade screen, click Apply coupon and enter your code. Learn More

  • Where can I view my current plan and usage?: Go to Settings โ†’ Plans & Billing โ†’ Current Plan to see plan details and usage. Learn More

  • How is usage calculated on usage-based plans? Usage accrues only when two or more participants are in a Space (participant-minutes). Learn More

  • Can I switch plans mid-cycle? Yes. Changes are prorated automatically (youโ€™ll only pay for the difference).
