How to get notified when participants get distracted?

Stay informed when participants lose focus during a session. Distraction Alerts notify hosts when a participant becomes inactive or switches away from the Pencil Spaces tab, helping educators keep students engaged and attentive during online lessons.

How to Enable Distraction Alerts

  1. Click the three-dot icon and open Settings.

  2. Go to AI Assist.

  3. Enable Notify me when participants get distracted in a Space.

Note:

To reduce notification noise in larger sessions, distraction alerts are hidden when there are 5 or more participants in the Space.

How Distraction Alerts Work

When a participant is no longer actively viewing Pencil Spaces (for example, when they switch to another browser tab or application), the host will receive a notification.

Hosts can:

  • Dismiss the notification

  • Mute distraction alerts

  • Open the participant list for more details
