By default, Institution Admins can access any Space within their institution and are automatically granted host permissions when they join. Site Admins have the same access and permissions for Spaces associated with their sites.
If your organization prefers tighter access controls, you can change this setting so admins can only access Spaces theyâve been explicitly invited to. This gives your institution more control over which Spaces admins can join.
How to change admin access permissions
You can manage this behavior from your institutionâs settings:
From your Pencil Spaces dashboard, go to Settings.
In the Settings menu, select Permissions.
Under the General menu, find Grant admins access to all the Spaces and toggle the setting according to your institutionâs preferences.
Click Update to save your changes.
When the setting is enabled, admins retain broad access to the Spaces within their institution or sites, as applicable. When itâs disabled, admins can only access Spaces theyâve been explicitly invited to.
