How to add Google Docs?

K
Written by Kayla George

You can import Google Docs into your Space and work on the document directly from the whiteboard. Everyone in the Space can work with the same Google Doc without opening it in a separate browser tab.

Note: Before you begin, make sure you have the shareable link to the Google Doc you want to import.

How to import Google Docs

To work on a Google Doc collaboratively inside a Space:

  1. Open the Apps list.

  2. Find and select Google Docs.

  3. Paste the shareable link to your Google Doc.

  4. Click Import.

  5. The Google Doc will appear on the whiteboard and be ready to use.

Once the document has been imported, all participants in the Space can access and work on the doc!

šŸ’” Pro tip: If you have the link to your Google Doc copied to your clipboard, you can simply hit Ctrl + V (or ⌘ + V on Mac) with the Select tool enabled to instantly import it.

What if someone can’t access the Google Doc?

To work collaboratively on a Google Doc, you need to make sure that everyone who needs to access the document has permission to open it. If a participant can’t open or interact with the imported document, double-check that they have access to the original Google Doc.

You can manage access to the document either in Google Docs directly, or through Google Drive’s sharing settings. Depending on your Google account and sharing settings, you can give specific people access or allow access to anyone with the link.
