How do sign in with email?

You can use your email address to either create a new Pencil Spaces account or sign in to an existing account.

To get started:

  • Go to my.pencilapp.com and select Continue with Email.

  • Enter the email address associated with your Pencil Spaces account, then select Continue.

Note: If you haven’t created a Pencil Spaces account with your selected email address before, then you’ll be taken through the account creation process described below.

Creating a new account

If the email address you’ve entered isn’t associated with an existing Pencil Spaces account, you’ll first be prompted to create a password.

  • Enter a password that fits the criteria shown on screen, and then select Continue.

  • Pencil Spaces will send a 6-digit verification code to the email address you provided. Check your inbox for the verification email and enter the code when prompted. If you don’t see the email in your primary inbox, check your spam or junk folder.

  • Once your verification code has been accepted, your Pencil Spaces account will be created. Follow all the additional prompts that appear on-screen to finish setting up your account.

Then you’re all set! You can now use your email address and password to sign in to Pencil Spaces.

Signing into an existing account

If you enter an email address that’s already associated with an existing Pencil Spaces account, the sign-in options you’ll see will depend on how that account is configured.

1. Google email addresses

If your email address is associated with Google, you’ll see:

  • Continue with Google

  • Request code via email

Should you select Continue with Google, a Google sign-in pop-up window will open. If you’re not already signed in to the relevant Google Account, you’ll be prompted to sign in using your Google account credentials.

Alternatively, you can select Request code via email to receive a one-time code at your email address and use that code to sign in. For more details on this process, see our guide: How do I sign in with a magic code?

2. Other email addresses

If your account uses an email address that isn’t associated with Google, you will be prompted to enter your normal Pencil Spaces account password instead.
