If you notice the following error message (or something similar) while trying to start your call, it means we're having difficulties starting your camera or your microphone
To address this issue, please follow the steps below. In each case, go back to Pencil Spaces and refresh the page to check whether the error resolves:
Close any other apps that may be using your camera or microphone at the same time
If you are using a webcam or an external microphone, try unplugging it and plugging it back into your device
Verify your browser is up-to-date (see here), and try to restart your browser
My device is still not working
In rare cases, following the steps above may still not fix the issue on your camera or microphone. If this is the case, please visit the following website to test if your camera is working: WebRTC.
If you find that your device is still not working on this website, it may mean that you have a software or hardware error unrelated to Pencil Spaces. In this case, please try joining Pencil Spaces from another computer, or select another microphone / camera
