In Pencil Spaces, when your Space is public, anyone who has access to the link will be able to join you in the Space.
When your Space is private, each participant must be individually invited to the Space in order to be able to join.
To learn more about how to invite participants to your Space, please read the following article: How to Invite People to your Session.
1. Changing your Space to Public or Private
When you create a new Space, it will automatically be created as a private Space for institution users, and it will automatically be created as a public Space for self-serve users (free accounts).
In a new Space, a pop-up will appear telling you if your Space is currently set to private or public, accompanied by the link to your Space. To change your Space to private, click on the arrow beside the word public, or vice versa if the Space is already set to private.
A drop-down bar will appear and you can then click on the "private" button to make your Space private. The same changes can be made to switch your Space back to private or public.
2. Changing Space Visibility from Private to Public once you've created your Space
To make your Space public, click the blue βinviteβ button found at the top right corner of your screen.
A pop-up will appear with the title of your Space at the top, and at the bottom, it will tell you that your Space is private. Click on the arrow beside the word private.
A drop-down bar will appear where you can select the βpublicβ button.
You will then see a blue button that says βsaveβ which will allow you to save the changes you have just made to your Space settings.
And now your Space will be public. The same process applies if you are looking to switch your Space back from public to private.
