How to know if this applies to you:

  • You are using Pencil Spaces on a device that runs on macOS

  • You have given your browser permission to use your camera and microphone, but your microphone is still not working

  • Your device's microphone works on other video conferencing tools

  • You might be using Pencil Spaces on a new browser or after a recent software update

Open System Preferences and click "Security & Privacy".

Navigate to "Privacy", then click on "Microphone".

Click the Lock icon to make changes.

Then, navigate to the browser that you use Pencil Spaces with.

  • If the browser you use doesn't have a checkmark next to it, select the checkmark and save your changes.

  • If the browser you are using does have a checkmark next to it, try to disable and re-enable the permission.

You will be asked to "Quit & Reopen" your browser to apply these changes.

Once you quit and re-open your browser, click the lock again to prevent further changes. Then, open Pencil Spaces in your browser and test to see if your microphone works.
