What Is the Lead Tool?

The Lead tool lets hosts control what participants see on the whiteboard.

When Lead is active, everyone’s view follows the host’s viewport, making it easier to keep the class or meeting focused.

How to Use the Lead Tool

  1. Go to the board or part of the canvas you want everyone to focus on.

  2. Click the Crown icon in the upper-left corner of your Space.

  3. Once activated, the icon turns blue, indicating you are leading the Space.

To stop leading, click the Crown icon again. The icon will return to its normal state, and participants will regain independent control of their view.

How to Set Lead as Default-On

You can choose to have Lead automatically enabled whenever a host enters a Space.

  1. Click the three-dot icon in the top-left corner of your window (next to Pencil Spaces and Home).

  2. Select Permissions from the menu.

  3. Click Inside Spaces tab

  4. Under Leader Mode, choose Default On, then click Update to confirm.

Lead will now automatically activate when the first host joins the Space.
