How do I use Quick Search?

K
Written by Kayla George

Quick Search gives you a quick way to access tools, resources, apps, and Sparky features without having to search through Pencil Spaces menus.

You can use Quick Search while you’re working in a Space to find a built-in resource, an app, or a tool like Breakout Rooms.

How do I open Quick Search?

You can open Quick Search from anywhere in your Space:

  • On Windows, press Ctrl + K.

  • On Mac, press ⌘ + K.

  • You can also click the Search icon in the top-right corner of your Space.

The Quick Search menu will appear in the middle of your screen.

What can I use Quick Search for?

You can use Quick Search to locate and access something you need inside Pencil Spaces.

Type the name of the tool, resource, app, or feature you’re looking for. The results will be grouped into categories to help you find what you need.

Depending on your search, you may see results from:

  • Apps and Tools: Tools and features that are available in your Space.

  • Resource Library: Pencil’s built-in collection of educational resources.

  • Ask Sparky: Ask Sparky a question or find actions that Sparky can perform.

Select the result you want, and it’ll open directly on your Board.

💡 Pro tip: You can use your mouse to select a result, or use the Up and Down arrow keys to move through the results and press Enter to open your selection.
