Welcome to Pencil Spaces! This guide will help you get ready for class, join your sessions, and review lessons anytime.

Before Your Class

  1. Run a quick tech check
We recommend running a quick tech check before your session to make sure your device, camera, microphone, and internet are ready:

  2. Confirm your Space
Your class takes place inside a designated Space (your virtual classroom).

Be sure you have the correct Space link or name from your tutor or administrator.

During Your Class

  1. Make sure you're in the correct Space and the correct board
In Pencil Spaces, a Space is your online classroom with a whiteboard and video conferencing. Inside a Space, you can create multiple boards. Each board is its own infinite canvas.

Follow your host to switch to the same board, or ask them to use Lead so everyone is brought to the correct board automatically.

    Learn more about Follow.

  2. Join the call
You can only join once the host has started the call.

If you don’t see the Join Call button, the host hasn’t started yet. Please contact your tutor or administrator. Learn more.

  3. Collaborate and enjoy
Pencil Spaces is the best collaborative platform for online teaching. Express your idea with our powerful video calling and rich toolbar. Learn more.

After Your Class

  1. Can I review the lesson later?
Yes! Everything added to a Space remains there unless it’s deleted, so you can review lessons anytime.

If you're unable to enter the Space, check with your tutor or administrator to make sure the Waiting Room is disabled. If it’s enabled, you may need approval to join.
