A weak or unstable network can affect your audio, video, and whiteboard experience in Pencil Spaces. Here’s how to spot the issue and what you can do to improve it.

How to know if you’re having network issues

  • Pixelated or frozen video

  • Choppy or delayed audio

  • Laggy whiteboard interactions

  • A low network signal icon on the top-right of your video tile

How to resolve network issues

Try these steps to improve your connection:

  1. Check your internet connection
Make sure you’re on a stable and strong internet connection. A wired connection is best if available.

  2. Switch networks
If you have access to multiple networks (for example, Wi-Fi and mobile hotspot), switch to the stronger or more stable one.

  3. Close unnecessary apps or tabs
Shut down background apps, downloads, or extra browser tabs to free up bandwidth and system resources.

  4. Turn off your camera
If your connection is struggling, disabling your camera can significantly reduce bandwidth usage and improve performance.

  5. Check minimum system requirements
Ensure your device meets Pencil Spaces’ minimum system requirements for optimal performance. Learn more
