Welcome to Pencil Spaces! Please refer to the guides below to get you signed into Pencil Spaces

First Time Users: Signing-Up
​

For first-time users, you can sign-up to Pencil Spaces at pencilspaces.com.
Click on the "Sign-up" button on the top-right to get to our sign-up page.

Click on it to proceed with your preferred sign-up process. If you're not seeing this screen, it means you're already logged in! No further action is needed.

Sign-up with Google / 3rd Party Provider

  1. If you're looking to sign-up with your Google Account or any 3rd party providers, ensure that you are currently logged in to that specific provider’s account on your device.
    ​

  2. Enter the following URL: my.pencilapp.com/account
    ​

  3. Continue with any of the mentioned providers, and choose the associated account. Allow the page a moment to load, and you will be signed up and directed to https://my.pencilapp.com/spaces. No password is required.
    ​

  4. In case you don’t see a pop-up/re-direct, follow the steps here:

Sign-up with Email / Password

Note: If another user has invited you to their institution and they haven't shared a password with you, you will need to reset your password first to access your Pencil Spaces account.

Please follow the instructions here on How to Reset Your Password.

Please note, that

  1. Enter the following URL: my.pencilapp.com/account
    ​

  2. Choose the “Continue with Email” option
    ​

  3. You will be directed to the following page. Enter your email address and click on continue
    ​

  4. Enter and confirm your password to proceed forward
    ​

  5. A 6-digit code is generated and sent to your email address
    ​

  6. Access the code and enter the 6-digit code in your open browser window,and you will be signed in and directed to https://my.pencilapp.com/spaces


Returning Users: Signing-In

Sign-in with Google

  1. To sign-in to Pencil Spaces using your Google Account, ensure that you are currently logged in to that specific Google account on your device.
    ​

  2. Enter the following URL: my.pencilapp.com/account
    ​

  3. Click on the 'Continue with Google' button, and wait for a pop-out window to appear.
    ​

  4. In case you don’t see a pop-up/re-directs, follow the steps here:

  5. Next, choose the Google Account associated with your Pencil Spaces account.
    ​

  6. Allow the page a moment to load, and you will be signed in and directed to https://my.pencilapp.com/spaces. No password is required.
    ​

Sign-in with Email / Password

If you signed up to Pencil Spaces using your email address, proceed with the following steps for email address log-in:

  1. Enter the following URL: my.pencilapp.com/account and locate the “Continue with Email” button on the page
    ​

  2. Enter your Email address associated with your Pencil Spaces account, and click on “Continue”
    ​
    ​


    ​

  3. Enter your password and click on Continue
    ​

  4. It will only take a moment and you will be signed in and directed to https://my.pencilapp.com/spaces.
    ​


​Sign-in with Magic Link

We also support Magic-link sign-in which removes the need to enter a password or sign-in with a third-party provider. The process works for everyone regardless of how you initially signed up for Pencil Spaces.

  1. Enter the following URL: my.pencilapp.com/account
    ​

  2. Choose the “Continue with Email” option
    ​

  3. You will be directed to the following page. Click on “Request Code via Email”
    ​

  4. A 6-digit code is generated and sent to your Email address
    ​

  5. Access the code using your primary device
    ​

  6. Enter the 6-digit code in your open browser window, and we’ll get you signed in
    ​

Sign-in with Facebook

Please note: You'll only be able to sign-in with Facebook if your Facebook account is associated with a valid email address. Signing-in with a Facebook account associated with a phone number will not work

If you signed up for Pencil Spaces using your Facebook account, please proceed with the following steps to sign-in:

  1. Choose “Continue with Facebook” from the More Options drop-down menu for a seamless one-click login experience. This will only take a moment and you will be signed in and directed to https://my.pencilapp.com/spaces.

  2. In case you don’t see a pop-up/re-directs, follow the steps here:

  3. Please also ensure that you are currently logged in to that specific Facebook account on your device for a smooth one-click login experience. In case you are not logged in to your Facebook Account, the pop-up will prompt you to sign-in to your Facebook Account using your email address and password.
    ​

Sign-in with Microsoft
​

If you signed up for Pencil Spaces using your Microsoft account, please proceed with the following steps to sign-in:

  1. Enter the following URL: my.pencilapp.com/account on your browser to reach the Sign-in page
    ​
    ​

  2. Choose “Continue with Microsoft” from the More Options drop-down menu
    ​
    ​

  3. If you are already logged in to your Microsoft account on your browser, you only need to enter the email address associated with your Microsoft account for a seamless, no-password, login experience.
    ​

  4. In case you don’t see a pop-up/re-directs, follow the steps here:

  5. In case you are not logged in to your Facebook Account, the pop-up will prompt you to sign-in to your Microsoft Account using your email address and password.

Sign-in with Clever or Classlink

How to Reset Your Password

Please refer to our help doc here for more details on how to reset the password of your Pencil Spaces account.

Allowing pop-ups and redirects
​

By default, Google Chrome blocks pop-ups from automatically showing up on your screen. When a pop-up is blocked, the address bar will be marked “Pop-up blocked"

For Chrome users, change your default pop-ups & redirect settings with the following steps:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.

  2. At the top right, click More > Settings.

  3. Click Privacy and security > Site Settings > Pop-ups and redirects.

  4. Choose the option that you want as your default setting.

Each browser may implement its own set of rules and restrictions to enhance user experience, security, and privacy. For other browsers, please refer to your browser's help documentation to enable pop-ups/redirects.

Additionally, if you have an ad-blocker extension installed in your browser, please make sure it is paused for this site, to allow the sign-in window to pop up.
