What is automatic transcription

When transcription is active on a call, a written copy of the audio from the video call is being recorded. If you have your audio on during the call, anything you say will be transcribed. This is an extremely useful tool for keeping a record of what’s going on during a video/audio call.

How to enable/disable automatic transcription

If you’re a host within the Space, to enable automatic transcription, navigate to your Pencil Spaces chat.

Above your chat, you should see your Transcription Centre.

When you open your transcription and see that it's off, you can toggle it on to enable automatic transcription on your call.

Once enabled, all audio on your call will begin being transcribed.

To disable automatic transcription, follow these same steps and toggle off the transcription.

If you’re not a host and you would like the automatic transcription to be turned off, you can send a direct message to the host of the Space to make that request.

It’s important to note that audio will only be transcribed if your microphone is turned on. If you don’t want your audio to be recorded and automatic transcription is in fact enabled, you can choose to keep your microphone off.
