For those looking to add additional detail and depth to their online math lessons, we've prepared a guide on how to get the most out of our Math Manipulatives, tools built exclusively for online educators.
1. Accessing the Math Manipulatives
To access the Math Manipulatives, first, navigate to the buttons on the left-hand side of your screen. Click the "Open Apps" button, which is located second from the top of the list. This will open up a new menu.
Once the second menu has been opened, navigate to the "Board Resources" section at the bottom of the menu. From there, click the "Math Manipulatives" button.
Clicking this button will open up a menu of all the Math Manipulatives that Pencil Spaces has to offer, organized by function. Choose whichever best suits your needs and get started!
2. Moving & Resizing the Math Manipulatives
Math Manipulatives maintain the same properties as all other elements in Pencil Spaces. Therefore, to expand or shrink a manipulative, click and drag from the corners. To move one around the board, click and drag the manipulative.
Additionally, by clicking on a manipulative, you'll open up an object menu that allows you to adjust the depth of the manipulative on the board, moving it in front or behind other objects on the board. This can be helpful when attempting to create complex diagrams.
3. Deleting Math Manipulatives
When you're finished with your manipulative, simply select the manipulative and either press the delete key on your keyboard, or click the "Delete" button in the object menu.
