Monitoring a student’s analytics in a course is a great way to track their progress and discover which areas they could use further assistance. This can be accomplished in Pencil’s Learning Management System.

It's important to Note that the although the process hasn't changed, the appearance of Pencil Spaces has changed since the filming of this video.

If you would like to look at your student’s analytics in a specific course, start by navigating to Pencil’s course page and select the course you would like to review the analytics.

From there, you will be taken to the course’s “Lessons” tab, click the “Analytics” tab.

Under the “Analytics” tab, you will see a list of students enrolled in your course. Click on the account of the student you would like to view the analytics for.

In this student's account, you will be able to see the number of question sessions they have completed, the date that each session was completed, the number of questions the student completed, the score they received, and the time it took them to complete the set. To get detailed analytics on a specific session the student completed, select the session you would like to look into.

From there you will have a more detailed overview of your student's statistics. You can see the answers they got for each question and other details such as question difficulty and the average time it took to answer each question.

For further details on a specific question, click on the question you would like to review.

Here you will be able to see the exact question they were answering, and the answer they actually selected.

If you open the “Explore Question” page found to the right, you can find helpful videos you can send your student to potentially assist them in answering similar questions in the future, as well as some related questions your student can try.

If you have any further questions, our support team is always happy to help!
