Leader Mode is a management tool only accessible to hosts that keeps classes organized and running smoothly. In Pencil Spaces, any host or owner of a Space can turn on Leader Mode which will cause everyone’s screen to follow yours on the whiteboard. They'll see exactly what you see, and be able to interact with everything you do.

1. How to use Leader Mode?

  • Using Leader Mode is simple. In your Space, navigate to the board that you want the other participants in your Space to focus on.

  • From here, click on the "Crown" icon on the upper left-corner of the Space.

  • This will activate Leader Mode and lead your participants to see exactly what you're seeing. Participants will still be able to interact with the whiteboard β€” so much better than screen sharing!

  • When you want to turn off the Leader Mode, simply navigate to the Crown icon, which currently is highlighted in blue. Click on the Crown icon again, and once the icon returns to its original state, Leader Mode has been turned off.

2. How to default-on Leader Mode?

  • Click on the 3-dot icon on the top left corner of your window, next to Pencil Spaces and Home.

  • Choose Permissions from the Settings menu.

  • Click on Inside Spaces

  • To set Leader mode as Default-On - choose Default On from the Leader Mode setting options and confirm by clicking on Update.

  • Leader Mode is now by default enabled when the first host enters.
